Name - How many in your trailer - WBCCI# - Trailer length - Contact number to be reached – There are 40 sites set aside for us but only 25% have been filled and paid for. The rally schedule and the rally/kitty fee have not been determined as yet but will be by Friday September 15. For your planning, the rally/kitty fee will be no more than $35 per trailer. Sun Checkout by noon Things to do in the area follows. Things To Do In Berks & Schuylkill Counties - Part 1 Mountain Springs Rodeo – Unfortunately there is no rodeo scheduled for the weekend you will be here. There is however a demolition derby that Saturday if you are into that kind of thing. Roadside America – This is pretty much right across I-78 from the campground where you all will be staying. It is the greatest known miniature village. It is a HUGE train layout that the kids (and adults) can enjoy. There are lots of buttons to push that make it even more fun. Cabela’s – Everybody knows about Cabela’s, right? Well there’s one about 5-10 minutes east of the campground just outside of Hamburg, PA. Yeungling Brewery – Is just up PA route 61 in Pottsville, PA. They have tours and a rathskeller to sample their fine beverages. Unfortunately they don’t sell any of their product there but you can get some here… Windsor Distributing Company – 800 South 4th Street, Hamburg, PA 19526 (610) 562-2474 – Just remember that in PA wine and liquors can only be purchased in a “state store” and beer can only be purchases by the case at a distributor or by the 6-pack in a bar. This is the perfect place to stock up on your favorite Yeungling products, including Lord Chesterfield AleJ. Reading Beer – There is also another brewery in Reading. Their Saturday tours are by appointment only. Grimes Airport, Bethel, PA. – Is just a little west of Shartlesville on I-78. It is a grass strip that is home to the Golden Age Air Museum. They have quite a few old airplanes and have bi-plane rides on the weekends, weather permitting. Mid-Atlantic Air Museum – Is housed in at the Reading Airport on PA Route 183 and is about a 30 minute drive from the campground. They have a number of WWII aircraft on static display, most of which still fly. The West Hamburg Hotel – 279 West State Street, Hamburg, Pa(610) 562-3777 - Or “The Westy” to us locals, is a nice tavern with a full menu and is a popular watering hole. Their Buffalo wings and baked mozzarella (baked motz) are great. Hamburg Diner – Right down the street from The Westy – 210 State Street, Hamburg, PA(610) 562-0422 - If you like “greasy spoon” diners, this is the place for you. They have great breakfasts The Port Clinton Hotel – This is another tavern offering a full menu and is a local favorite. Haag’s Hotel – Is in Shartlesville and has been serving Pennsylvania Dutch family style dinners since 1915. Hawk Mountain Sanctuary – The world’s largest sanctuary for birds of prey. There are 8 miles of hiking trails and is a beautiful vista from which to see the surrounding countryside. Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine – In Ashland, PA, is in the heart of the Pennsylvania Anthracite Coal Regions. It is about an hour from the campground and you can tour the coal mine to see how coal was mined in days gone by. You can also take a ride on a narrow gauge steam locomotive. __________________ |
